VK Clubhouse: Hark the Herald Angel

Matt & Molly Ackerman
This December we will be putting on a Christmas program to remember! We will be performing the musical “Hark the Herald Angel.” In this musical, the angels in Heaven are having a big choir rehearsal to bring important news to earth– but the news of Jesus’ birth confounds the angels. Gabriel helps Hark, our most baffled angel, understand God’s great love for humans. This program has incredible music, theologically rich lyrics, and an amusing twist on the Christmas story.

Living From Heaven

Peter Payne & Elizabeth Sands
As humans, we all are born, live out our lives and die on planet earth. This is our reality, and no one I know will argue about that—except the Apostle Paul. He has a different perspective on this—for Christ-followers. Check this out:

For he raised us from the dead along with Christ, and we are seated with him in the heavenly realms — all because we are one with Christ Jesus. Eph.2:6

Paul is speaking in present tense, “We are seated with him in the heavenly realms.” What is he saying? Are we Christians living out our lives here on earth as we have always assumed? Or are we in some way actually living out our lives from another place? Is that even possible? If we are truly living in some other realm while retaining influence here on earth, then what are the implications of such an arrangement?

“Living From Heaven” explores this question that may well challenge your worldview. Prepare for some sizzling discussions and fresh understandings of heaven both as your inheritance to come and the legacy you leave behind.
Group Info
What’s involved?
This study is centered on the book, “Living From Heaven.” We will be reading the material together, with the book in hand, and I challenge you NOT to read ahead between classes—your choice.

Homework?
There will be no homework between sessions.

Materials needed to purchase?
The book, “Living From Heaven”, will be available soon.

Men? Women? Both?
Open to both Men and Women.

Jonah

Bella Curtis
Join us as we study Jonah by Priscilla Shirer and learn that life interruptions are actually God's invitation to do something big in our lives. When Jonah was willing to obey God, the result was a revival of an entire city.

Through personal Bible study, video teaching, group discussion, and prayer, we'll grow together in our understanding of God's Word.

Whether you're new to Bible study or have been following Jesus for years, we'd love for you to join us!
Group Info
What’s involved?
-Personal Bible study homework
-Video teaching (viewed independently)
-Group discussion
-Prayer and fellowship

Homework?
The study includes five days of homework per session and teaching videos that participants will watch on their own between meetings. While Jonah is a 7-session study, we'll spread it over 12 weeks, allowing extra time to complete the homework and engage with the material at a comfortable pace.

Materials needed to purchase?
Participants will need to purchase their own Jonah Bible Study book with video access before the first session. It is available on Amazon for approximately $25.

Men? Women? Both?

Emotionally Healthy Relationships

Tim Pollard & Chris Hunt
Have you ever wondered why we recycle the same problems  year after year? Broken relationships, unresolved conflicts, inability to speak the truth, pretending things are fine because we’re concerned about being nice. Week after week we hear sermons about loving better, but little changes in people’s lives.

We spend a lot of money to learn, and become competent in, our careers, but few of us have learned the skills or gained the competency to love well.
It’s been rightly said that 85 percent of Christians are stuck, stagnant in their spiritual lives. Most discipleship approaches do not include the necessary tools to mature us as followers of Jesus Christ who love God, ourselves, and others well.
Group Info
What’s involved?
The class will watch a teaching video, have a group discussion, and share.

Our workbook includes session introductions, group discussion questions, personal action steps, and between-session personal study. This powerful journey will walk you through a door that will forever change the way you love God, others, and yourself.

Pete and Geri Scazzero developed The Emotionally Healthy (EH) Relationships Course over a 21-year period to directly address core biblical principles to guide you and others into an experience of discipleship that will deeply change your life. In the EH Relationships Course, you will learn 8 practical relationship skills to develop mature, loving relationships with others.

1. Take Your Community Temperature Reading
2. Stop Mind Reading and Clarify Expectations
3. Genogram Your Family
4. Explore the Iceberg
5. Listen Incarnationally
6. Climb the Ladder of Integrity
7. Fight Cleanly
8. Develop a “Rule of Life” to Implement Emotionally Healthy Skills

And since loving others and loving God cannot be separated, you will also grow in your personal, first-hand relationships with Jesus by incorporating stillness, silence, and Scripture as daily life rhythms.

Homework?
Devotional exercises and the workbook are encouraged but not required for class participation.

Materials needed to purchase?
Emotionally Healthy Relationships Expanded Edition Participant's Pack: Discipleship that Deeply Changes Your Relationship with Others. Cost around $20 depending on where it is purchased.
