Prayer @ the Vineyard

We put a high value on prayer at Elgin Vineyard and continually seek to prioritize it more. Jesus tells us, "And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son" (John 14:13). We love to pray for each other and for anyone who walks in the doors of our church; an opportunity is given at the end of the service each Sunday. Is your need for healing? Provision? Growth? Salvation? Whatever it is, we would love to ask the Holy Spirit to come and bless you!

Besides this prayer ministry time on Sundays, we also offer several other opportunities for our church family to pray together:

Led by Pastor Tom, we take every Sunday morning to pray about the upcoming service. Get in touch if you'd like to be connected. 

Led by Lila Bishop, we read, discuss, and pray together around a central focus or theme. Locations rotate, get in touch to learn more.

Led by Claire Kruse, we are a group of Moms praying for the needs of our adult children. Get in touch if you'd like to be connected. 

Led by Lori Hall, we join each morning to pray for the needs of others, including our local community and the globe. Get in touch for the Zoom link.

Our Prayer Shields ministry exists for the benefit of other ministries in the church. You know how a shield of armor used to protect warriors on the battlefield? And a wall of shields defended more effectively than one? That's exactly how our Prayer Shields work, each team joining their prayers to protect and empower our church's main ministries.

Once a month, each ministry leader emails his or her update (praises and prayer requests) to their Prayer Shield team, and then … we pray! And we keep on praying, regularly, throughout the month.

We ask for everyone in our church family to join at least one Prayer Shield. There are eight ministry areas currently protected by Prayer Shields.
